THE TRIPTYCH PROJECT
Katten Konstgrupp is currently working on a triptych called “Circle, Circle” that explores the themes around time, transition, grief and relation.
PART I – “CIRCLE, CIRCLE – watching a drama with others”
premiered on Atalante 16-17 May 2025.
A choreographic piece with live musicians on stage.
A sudden stop in the subway.
In a “stream of consciousness,” we follow two passengers in a montage of memories,
moments and dream states as they introspect in a wordless conversation with their younger
and older selves. Did I loose you on the way?
”I was young here. Riding the subway with my small book
as though to defend myself against the same world: you are not alone, the poem said, in the dark tunnel.” Louise Glück
Circle, Circle is a choreographic performance with live music, set in the moment of a sudden stop on the subway. Through a stream of consciousness, we follow two passengers in a journey through memories, dream states, and imagined dialogues with their younger and older selves. Created by choreographers Soledad Howe and Fredrika Byman-Moberg with composer Malin Dahlström, Circle, Circle blends dance, music, and audience presence into a shared experience. The piece explores a non-linear narrative that shifts between autobiography and fiction within an immersive stage space. Live music is partially performed by swedish duo Niki & the Dove, with the audience situated on stage illuminated by the light design of Anna Wemmert Clausen as part of the performance.
